MARYVILLE made the "hit" parade
This is something that you won’t read in the Daily Times. Seems Maryville has been identified as a city with one of 37 HATE groups in Tennessee by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Here’s the link:

Neo-Nazi? Sporting Nazi symbols? Anyone seen this in Maryville?

The only Creativity Alliance group I know of is located at the Municipal Building as well as near the BC Mayors office

I am certain that Timothy McVeigh’s neighbors never saw that he would do the Oklahoma bombing. Although he claimed to be a white supremacist and quoted “The Turner Diaries”, he was not seen as a racist by friends and family. While in prison McVeigh wrote the following – which sounds much like the HATE I heard and saw last August at Corker’s Town Hall and the recent letters in the Times and KnoxNews:
“The administration has said that Iraq has no right to stockpile chemical or biological weapons (“weapons of mass destruction”) – mainly because they have used them in the past.
Well, if that’s the standard by which these matters are decided, then the U.S. is the nation that set the precedent. The U.S. has stockpiled these same weapons (and more) for over 40 years. The U.S. claims that this was done for deterrent purposes during the “Cold War” with the Soviet Union. Why, then is it invalid for Iraq to claim the same reason (deterrence) — with respect to Iraq’s (real) war with and the continued threat of, its neighbor Iran?
If Saddam is such a demon and people are calling for war crimes charges and trials against him and his nation, why do we not hear the same cry for blood directed at those responsible for even greater amounts of “mass destruction” — like those responsible and involved in dropping bombs on the cities mentioned above.
The truth is, the U.S. has set the standard when it comes to the stockpiling and use of weapons of mass destruction.”

Racism is sick. Everything about Racism shows utter stupidity and ignorance. All racists are a blight on our society. The BEST thing this nation has going for it is the FACT that most all of us, save the Native Americans, are foreigners. And that the collective brain trust we have here, if nothing else, is a beacon to the rest of the world that, the US, in every corner, openly receives ALL races, creeds, religions, and nationalities.
I'm really really glad we don't use Roman Numerals, and I shudder to think how we would have survived without the help of that nutty Serb, Tesla.
There was a Nut & Bolt Store in Maryville, that I took my son in with me, back in 2000. The ole chap behind the counter was liberally slinging the 'N' word around. I immediately grabbed my son and RAN out of the store. No one should stand for a moment for such hogwash drooling from the mouths of anyone that claims to be an American.

Oh Hay, I guess I would agree with everything you wrote 2-3 years ago but there is something that, especially east TN and other eastern southern states, have changed their thoughts - "they are suppose to accept an educated 'black' man in their White House".
You know I moved here 6 years ago, was in management (in Milwaukee, WI, with some of my better employees being black (and NEVER looked at them as being colored, just taking care of me back and doing their job), and then we came to TN (oh, so naive was I!!!) I not only felt what it was like to be in a racial area of this nation, I found out what the 'buckle of the Bible belt' meant, and I found out that politically people did not like a debate ------ you were Republican and that is IT!
(i.e. - on the racial issue - 6 years ago we found that there was not a person in the food business that was black that had anything to do with the customer (changing for the better recently).
